I suppose you're right, I do need to talk to her about this thoroughly. It was always one of my fears of LDR, especially with this added step, cause communication through only text would lead to many miscommunications, but thank you! I'll prepare myself and maybe write notes before I do finally talk to her

Yes! Notes are a fantastic idea! I know I can never remember what I need to say if I don't write down at least some bullet points. I'm not sure how often you see each other in person, but I would definitely recommend talking face to face. It's so easy to hang up or stop responding when you use a phone. Definitely more uncomfortable that way, but I hope after a year of dating that you can talk face to face about serious things. And things are much clearer face to face as well.
