rules and punishments for little

I have rule for my little which is that they should not think badly about themselve/put themselve down. But I actually don't quite know how to feel about it if they were to get punished because of of simply thinking something negative.
What do you guys think?

Yeah, I’m sorry but that’s a really unhelpful, potentially dangerous, rule. It’s not at all personal and not safely enforceable either. You just can’t police thoughts and then expect to punish to “make it better”. Check out the resource on
