It sounds unhappy that you did something that clearly upset your partner. It’s unfortunate that you were warned beforehand by being given a “rules” list, and knowingly did something that was clearly communicated as being not okay to do. Maybe it’s time to have some self-reflection on why you overstepped boundaries. Since I don’t know any details of the offense I can only say that apologizing is a good step too. Hopefully you two will be able to move past it. Perhaps relationship counseling is something you two should look into for yourselves.
